Hello 7th and 8th graders! Here is another FREE opportunity for students to perform out of the classroom in a very worthwhile music experience that I highly recommend. This is my achieved by student registration and director nomination (and I will nominate all of my students). 🙂
It is the Wayne State University Department of Music’s 2015 Honor Band! The first thing to do is for students/parents to go to the following link and register for the Honor Band and the link is: https://forms.wayne.edu/540f3b054f5d2/
After students are registered Wayne State will be sending more information and parent forms the week of October 12th.
In the meantime, here is some information about the big day! The day (Saturday, October 24) will begin at 9:30 a.m. and end with a performance at Wayne State’s Community Arts Auditorium located at 5351 Cass Ave., Detroit, Michigan 48202 at 7:30 pm. The concert should last approximately an hour and half. We will have a dinner break at 4:30 pm where student participants will be dismissed to their Parents/Guardians. Students will return promptly for a 6:30 pm “Call Time” for the Concert at Community Arts Auditorium . The concert is open and free to the public.
NOTE: There are only 35 spots left in the middle school band and it is first come, first serve with registration and this same info is going out to dozens of districts so register fast!
If you have any questions please contact WSU at the email address on the registration form.
Thanks for considering to perform at this event!
